Gurit has landed a major two-year supply contract for its glass pultruded blade root reinforcement solutions with a top wind turbine manufacturer in the Asia-Pacific region. The deal is valued at over CHF 10 million across the contract term.
“As wind turbine blades continue to increase in size, the structural demands on blade roots are rising accordingly,” Gurit said. “To meet these evolving requirements, many Western and Chinese blade manufacturers are shifting toward more advanced reinforcement solutions.”
Gurit’s high-performance pultruded root reinforcements are custom-engineered for each blade model to ensure exceptional bonding performance at the critical root-end-connection interface, reducing the risk of bushing shear-out. “Our unique design results in more efficient root designs and tighter bushing spacing, resulting in smaller root diameters and lighter overall structures without compromising strength,” the company added.
The contract highlights Gurit’s strategic commitment to expanding its glass pultrusion product line, emphasizing its long-term role in next-generation blade designs.
Gurit has built a strong reputation in the competitive wind market, leveraging “proven track record, engineering expertise, and reliable performance” to become a preferred supplier for multiple OEMs across Western and Chinese markets.
