Disflamoll Advance combines strong flame retardancy with effective smoke suppression and can help reduce or eliminate the use of antimony trioxide in formulations

Specialty chemicals company LANXESS has launched Disflamoll Advance, a next-generation platform of plasticizing flame retardants engineered to meet tightening regulatory demands while delivering high-performance flame protection.

Featuring an extremely low triphenyl phosphate (TPP) content of less than 0.1 percent, the new platform is designed to help manufacturers respond to evolving compliance requirements without compromising product performance.

Disflamoll Advance combines strong flame retardancy with effective smoke suppression and can help reduce or eliminate the use of antimony trioxide (ATO) in formulations. The technology also supports improved processing efficiency, giving manufacturers greater flexibility as regulatory and sustainability expectations continue to rise.

“Disflamoll Advance helps customers stay ahead of regulatory developments while continuing to achieve outstanding product performance,” said Heiko Tebbe, Head of Application Development for Polymer Additives at LANXESS. “The platform brings together regulatory preparedness, technical performance and sustainability in a flexible portfolio designed to help customers address both current and future market requirements.”

The first product launched under the platform is Disflamoll Advance OT, a plasticizing flame retardant developed specifically for polar polymer systems.

The product is designed for a wide range of applications, including flexible polyvinyl chloride (PVC) used in flooring, tarpaulins and synthetic leather, as well as insulation foams, thermoplastic polyurethanes (TPU), synthetic rubbers and cellulose esters.

Built to address changing market demands, regulatory pressures and sustainability goals, Disflamoll Advance OT delivers the low TPP content, flame-retardant performance, plasticizing capabilities and smoke suppression associated with the Disflamoll brand.

LANXESS said the product can also provide sustainability benefits, with its carbon footprint up to 40 percent lower than conventional alternatives through the use of renewable energy and raw materials.
