LAPP expands Bhopal plant making it largest manufacturing facility in global network

Construction began in 2025, with the new unit becoming fully operational yesterday
Cable and connectivity solutions major LAPP has inaugurated a major expansion of its manufacturing facility in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, turning the site into the largest manufacturing facility in the company’s global production network.
The expansion includes a new state-of-the-art facility dedicated to Power Low Voltage (LV) cable manufacturing. Construction began in 2025, with the new unit becoming fully operational yesterday.
Power LV cables are critical to electrical infrastructure across factories, commercial buildings, transportation systems, renewable energy projects, utilities and other industrial applications.
The investment comes as India ramps up spending on infrastructure, manufacturing and energy, driving demand for locally produced Power LV cable solutions. Infrastructure investments across the country are estimated at around Rs 24 lakh crore over the current and next financial year, while renewable-energy capacity additions are projected at 50-55 GW annually.

We deeply believe in India as a strategic core market for LAPP in Asia and Madhya Pradesh as a manufacturing location”, said Matthias Lapp, CEO of LAPP Group.
LAPP has steadily expanded its Bhopal operations since opening the facility in 2012. What began with single-core cable production has grown into a multi-capability manufacturing hub spanning multicore cables, solar cables, compounding and E-Beam technology.
The facility now employs more than 200 people in quality manufacturing roles and has become LAPP’s largest manufacturing site worldwide.
The Bhopal plant also houses some of LAPP’s most advanced manufacturing technologies. Its in-house capabilities allow the company to develop and produce advanced polymer blends, giving it greater control over cable quality, consistency and performance.
E-Beam technology further enhances cable materials at the molecular level, improving durability, thermal resistance and long-term reliability for demanding industrial applications.
