The facility will produce advanced PE and PP-based compounds using US sourced raw materials
Premix Group, a global leader in electrically conductive plastics, has officially opened its new manufacturing facility in Apple Creek, North Carolina. Backed by a $79 million investment from the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), the new facility reinforces domestic supply chains for critical diagnostic and industrial applications.
The facility will produce advanced PE and PP-based compounds using US sourced raw materials. These materials are essential for precise liquid level detection and protection against electrostatic discharges (ESD), widely used in diagnostics, electronics, packaging, and chemical industries.
“These materials enable high-precision liquid level sensing in diagnostic testing, and safer handling, transport, and storage by protecting against uncontrolled electrostatic discharges (ESD) — a critical requirement in electronics, industrial packaging, diagnostics, and other high-performance applications,” said Jaakko Aho, CEO of Premix Group.
With the new Apple Creek plant, Premix delivers to the U.S. market locally manufactured products with shorter lead times, a smaller carbon footprint, and enhanced supply chain security.
