The Made-in-India brand bets on mineral-based coatings
PureSil Paints, the mineral-based architectural coatings brand from Relic Coatings, is targeting 100 locations across India's major metropolitan cities and state capitals over the next 12 months.
This, as it accelerates its nationwide expansion and pushes sustainble, domestically developed alternatives in the coatings market.
The company has appointed channel partners in Nagpur, Cuttack, Pune, Kolkata, Raipur and Vadodara, marking the first phase of its expansion. Since its commercial rollout in August 2026, PureSil Paints has focused on product trials, customer engagement, distribution development and institutional project opportunities.
At the heart of its proposition is a fully indigenous manufacturing approach. The company says its 100% Made in India product combines homegrown technology with locally sourced raw materials, keeping dependence on imported raw materials negligible. The strategy aligns with India's push for manufacturing self-reliance while strengthening supply-chain resilience.
PureSil Paints is built around mineral silicate technology, featuring a rice husk ash-based silicate binder and proprietary silicification technology. By incorporating Rice Husk Ash and Fly Ash, the product aims to put agricultural and industrial by-products to productive use in construction materials.
Its zero-VOC formulation, breathable coating technology and emphasis on durability are central to its sustainability pitch. The breathable coating allows moisture vapour to escape through walls, supporting better wall performance. Available in multiple colours and SKUs, the range is designed for residential and commercial applications.
The launch comes as the paints and coatings industry faces growing pressure to reduce environmental impact. Rising interest in low-VOC and zero-VOC formulations, alongside demand for resource-efficient construction materials, is opening up opportunities for mineral-based alternatives.
Commenting on the expansion, Nikhil Dhote, Founder and Chief Technologist, PureSil Paints, said, “We believe the future of the coatings industry lies in combining performance, sustainability and indigenous innovation. Our focus is to build a strong pan-India presence while offering an alternative that addresses evolving environmental expectations and India's growing emphasis on self-reliance.”
PureSil Paints is targeting residential and commercial real estate, institutional buildings, urban infrastructure and industrial establishments as it builds its presence across India.
Rather than expanding indiscriminately, the company plans to grow selectively by onboarding capable channel partners and scaling operations in line with market demand. Its immediate priority is to strengthen distribution while building awareness of mineral-based coatings as an alternative in India's architectural coatings market.
