Ohmium International and Hynfra P.S.A. have signed a master cooperation agreement to accelerate green hydrogen and green ammonia developments across Mauritania, Jordan, and Oman.

The agreement covers the Front-End Engineering and Design (FEED) phase and sets up a long-term framework for collaboration across the three projects.

Under the deal, Ohmium will also provide technical support and its PEM electrolyzer expertise throughout development, as the projects move toward large-scale production of green hydrogen for ammonia applications.

The initiatives are aimed at strengthening energy security in host countries by building domestic clean energy capacity, reducing reliance on imported fossil fuels, and enabling exports of RFNBO-compliant green ammonia to markets including Europe.

“Our master cooperation agreement with Hynfra is an exciting milestone as we expand into the Middle East and Africa. Hynfra brings deep expertise and a bold vision for large-scale green hydrogen development, and together we will advance these projects to unlock green hydrogen and green ammonia production at scale.

"This agreement reflects the growing global momentum for green hydrogen development and our commitment to playing a pivotal role in that growth,” said Markus Tacke of Ohmium.

The Middle East and Africa are increasingly emerging as global hubs for green hydrogen, driven by strong renewable energy potential and proximity to key demand centers. For Mauritania, Jordan, and Oman, the projects are expected to support energy independence, economic diversification, and resilience against global energy price volatility.

Ohmium’s modular PEM electrolyzer technology is positioned as a key enabler for rapid deployment and scalable hydrogen production capacity.

“We work with multiple technology partners across our green hydrogen and ammonia projects, and we maintain at least two qualified suppliers for each technology category. That's a deliberate choice, and it reflects the complexity of what we're building. Ohmium is one of our PEM electrolyzer partners,” said Tomoho Umeda of Hynfra.

The agreement signals accelerating global momentum behind green hydrogen as a strategic pillar of the energy transition and a tool for national energy security. By combining Ohmium’s electrolyzer technology with Hynfra’s project development expertise and regional networks, the companies aim to scale up green hydrogen and green ammonia production across the region.
