Analysts say the deal signals consolidation in the clean molecules industry as early-stage projects transition to industrial-scale delivery
Power2X, a leader in clean molecule projects and industrial decarbonization, announced it has acquired HyCC, a major Netherlands-based green hydrogen developer.
The move strengthens Power2X’s foothold in the clean molecules sector and accelerates large-scale delivery of sustainable fuels and feedstocks across the Netherlands and Germany.
The acquisition combines HyCC’s robust portfolio—including projects in Amsterdam, Delfzijl, and Rotterdam—with Power2X’s capital base and industrial expertise, creating scale, efficiency, and faster project realization. Analysts say the deal signals consolidation in the clean molecules industry as early-stage projects transition to industrial-scale delivery.
Clean molecules, including green hydrogen, are essential for Europe’s industrial competitiveness and energy security. The combined Power2X-HyCC portfolio is expected to unlock significant investments and support the local chemical sector.
“With the acquisition of HyCC we are adding valuable, and strategic projects in key industrial hubs to our portfolio,” said Occo Roelofsen, Founder and CEO of Power2X. “It brings us into a new phase where we have increased focus on delivery and a more diverse group of industrial customers. We look forward to working closely with Nobian and other partners on project delivery and operations in Dutch and German clean molecules market.”
For HyCC, the partnership marks the next step in scaling its green hydrogen projects. “Our ongoing focus on water electrolysis has enabled us to develop a strong portfolio of green hydrogen projects at HyCC,” said Marcel Galjee, Managing Director of HyCC.
“Now it is time to move to the next phase of these projects, and with Power2X we have found the perfect partner to do so. We are grateful to everyone who contributed to this achievement and look forward to the next chapter with Power2X.”
The deal underscores Power2X’s ambition to deliver competitive, industrial-scale clean molecules and solidifies its leadership in Europe’s energy transition.
