Algeria’s SONATRACH and German technology giant Robert Bosch have signed an MoU to explore cooperation in the development of green hydrogen, opening the door to potential joint projects across the emerging sector.

 

The agreement was signed on the sidelines of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s official visit to the Federal Republic of Germany, made at the invitation of German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.

 

Under the MoU, SONATRACH and Bosch will identify partnership opportunities to develop Algeria’s green hydrogen industry, with a particular focus on the manufacture of electrolysers and hydrogen production.

 

The agreement also provides for the exchange of expertise and technical know-how on technologies and processes linked to green hydrogen, potentially strengthening Algeria’s capabilities across the sector’s developing value chain.

 

The agreement marks another step toward expanding industrial and technological cooperation between Algeria and Germany, while positioning green hydrogen as a potential area for future strategic investment and partnership.
