Verde Hydrogen has secured a major 25MW electrolyzer supply contract for a flagship off-grid green hydrogen mega project, marking a significant win in China’s rapidly expanding clean hydrogen sector.

Based in Boston, Verde Hydrogen announced it has signed a landmark agreement with China Coal Energy Group to deliver a complete set of core electrolysis equipment for Phase I of a large-scale renewable hydrogen project.

The facility is designed as an integrated system combining on-site renewable power generation with localized green hydrogen production, operating entirely on dedicated clean energy resources.

The project aims to supply high-purity green hydrogen for heavy industry, supporting low-carbon industrial transformation and positioning itself as a reference model for off-grid hydrogen production in China’s industrial landscape.

Under the supply contract, Verde Hydrogen will provide four units of 1,200 Nm³/h high-performance alkaline electrolyzers, along with a full 4,800 Nm³/h gas-liquid separation and hydrogen purification system. The package also includes the company’s proprietary modular “4-in-1” integrated hydrogen production system.

The deal was highly contested, drawing bids from leading domestic electrolyzer manufacturers in China. Verde Hydrogen ultimately prevailed after a multi-stage technical and commercial evaluation process, with the company’s proposal praised for its system performance, cost efficiency, and long-term operational economics.

According to the company, the selection reflects strong confidence in its technology and execution capabilities. The announcement highlights VERDE HYDROGEN’s growing footprint in large-scale hydrogen infrastructure projects and reinforces its position in the global electrolyzer market.

As demand for low-carbon energy solutions accelerates worldwide, the company says it will continue advancing hydrogen production technologies and scaling integrated electrolysis systems for industrial deployment.
