Vipa Group has grown into one of Europe's leading developers and manufacturers of high-quality thermoplastic compounds

HEXPOL has completed its acquisition of Italian thermoplastic compounder Vipa Group, strengthening its position in the fast-growing Wire & Cable segment and expanding its exposure to electrification, data centers, telecom and smart buildings.

As announced on July 31, HEXPOL signed an agreement to acquire 100 percent of the shares in Vipa Group. The transaction has closed.

Founded in 1969 by the Paolini family, Vipa Group has grown into one of Europe's leading developers and manufacturers of high-quality thermoplastic compounds, with a particular focus on the Wire & Cable segment and above-market profitability.

The group operates two well-invested production sites in Italy, alongside a state-of-the-art R&D center. In 2025, Vipa Group generated turnover of 76.4 MEUR and employed approximately 80 people. The company also has open capacity to support further growth within its existing footprint.

The acquisition significantly strengthens HEXPOL’s Wire & Cable offering, while giving the group increased exposure to markets driven by electrification, data centers, telecom and smart buildings.

The deal covers the entire Vipa Group, including Vi.pa S.r.l. and Vi.pa Polimeri S.r.l.

HEXPOL is paying €143.5 million for the acquisition on a cash- and debt-free basis. The transaction is being funded through a combination of bank facilities and cash.
