Devendra Kumar Ray has been appointed as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Insecticides (India) Ltd.
Currently serving as Whole Time Director and President – Operations at Cohizon Life Sciences, Ray leads end-to-end operations including manufacturing, EHS&S (Environmental, Health, Safety & Sustainability), technology transfer, project management, engineering procurement, compliance, and manufacturing excellence. Their strategic leadership has been instrumental in driving operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and sustainable growth.
A seasoned operations management leader with 38 years of rich and diverse experience in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, Ray has consistently delivered excellence across CDMO (Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization) and CRAMS (Contract Research and Manufacturing Services) businesses.
Over the course of his career, Ray has held key roles at reputed organizations such as Hoechst, Searle India Ltd. (NRPG Enterprise), Cheminova (now FMC Ltd.), Atul Ltd., PI Industries, AcmeChem Ltd., and Neogen Chemicals Ltd. Notably, where they played a pivotal role in scaling operations and implementing best-in-class practices across functions.
His ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage complex projects, and deliver results in highly regulated environments has earned them a reputation as a transformation specialist.
Ray brings deep expertise in large-scale chemical manufacturing, operations management, process development, technology transfer, and strategic project execution. His leadership has consistently driven improvements in efficiency, safety, sustainability, and responsible care across complex manufacturing environments.
Ray holds a BTech in Chemical Engineering from Harcourt Butler Technical University and BSc Chemistry from Allahabad University. Their deep technical knowledge, combined with decades of hands-on leadership, positions them as a respected authority in operations and strategic execution within the industry.
