Elena Scaltritti officially assumed the role of President and CEO of Topsoe on March 5, 2026. This transition occurred nearly three months earlier than the previously announced date of June 1, 2026.
Outgoing CEO Roeland Baan proposed stepping down earlier following the company's "satisfactory" 2025 financial results and a smooth transition process.
Scaltritti, who joined Topsoe in 2022 as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), was first named as the successor in January 2026.
Her leadership is expected to drive Topsoe's next phase of growth, focusing on scaling innovative technologies for the energy transition, including low-carbon fuels and green hydrogen.
Before Topsoe, Scaltritti held executive roles at SONGWON Industrial Group and leadership positions at BASF, Ciba, and Nalco Water.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Organic Chemistry from the University of Milan and an MBA from the POLIMI Graduate School of Management.
