Hindustan National Glass & Industries Limited (HNGIL), India's largest container glass manufacturer, has announced the appointment of Rakesh Mehta as Chief Operating Officer (COO) - North with immediate effect.
This key leadership addition follows HNGIL's acquisition by Independent Sugar Corporation Limited (INSCO), part of the Uganda-based Madhvani Group, in September 2025.
The appointment underscores HNGIL's post-acquisition strategy to enhance operational excellence and drive growth in northern India. Mehta will oversee facilities across locations, focusing on supply chain optimization, production efficiency, and market expansion for clients in pharmaceuticals, liquor, beverages, and food sectors.
Mehta brings with him over two decades of expertise in finance, commercial operations, contracting, and regional leadership. Previously, he served as Finance Head - North at Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd. since 2013 and in similar roles at Reliance Retail, managing distribution, logistics, and operations across Gurugram and northern markets.
