The School of Chemical Sciences, Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam will host Prof. V. N. Rajasekharan Pillai Endownment Lecture and Award, 2026 on 30th January, 2026.
This initiative was conceived by research scholars of Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam from 1983 onwards whom Prof. V. N,. Rajasekharan Pillai had the privilege of teaching and guiding.
Universities grow not only through buildings and syllabi, but through people, ideas, and the curiosity they nurture. This endowment represents that journey—where learning continues across generations, guided by values, rigour, and a genuine love for science.
"I am especially pleased that the 2026 Endowment Lecture will be delivered by Prof. Subi Jacob George, a widely respected scientist whose work in supramolecular chemistry and functional materials has made a meaningful impact worldwide. I extend my warm congratulations to him on being the Endowment Lecture Awardee," said Prof. V. N. Rajasekharan Pillai.
Young scholars across organic, inorganic, physical, and polymer chemistry will be awarded scholarships thereby encouraging early-career researchers.
The endowment is an honour—it is a reminder of why we teach, mentor, and continue to learn together added Prof. Pillai.
