Port of Rotterdam appoints Amlan Bora as Chief Representative for India and South Asia

Prior to his current position Amlan was the Chief Representative and Trade & Investment Commissioner of the Netherlands Business Support Offices (NBSO) in India


Port of Rotterdam Authority has engaged Amlan Bora, as Chief Representative for India and South Asia.

This engagement via Dhanoni Advisory LLP, will help the port of Rotterdam to develop stronger and more meaningful partnerships with India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, with the aim of creating resilient and efficient supply chains between these countries and Western Europe via Rotterdam. The appointment is in line with the ambition of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs to strengthen ties with countries in this area, especially India.

Amlan will support Port of Rotterdam Authority and its stakeholders in Rotterdam, India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in establishing equitable supply chains for cargo and bulk as well as new energy molecules, such as hydrogen carriers. It also applies to the Port Authority's efforts to explore business synergies around critical raw materials between Europe and South Asia.

India is rapidly emerging as a key player in the global hydrogen economy and critical raw materials market, driven by ambitious policy initiatives and strategic investments.

Amlan is an experienced global supply chain professional having worked in major multinationals like Siemens, Philips, Diageo in progressively senior positions. Prior to his current position Amlan was the Chief Representative and Trade & Investment Commissioner of the Netherlands Business Support Offices (NBSO) in India. The NBSOs are trade offices managed by the Ministry of Economic Affairs of the Dutch Government.
