Praveer K Srivastava takes over as MD of Mahanagar Gas

Praveer Kumar Srivastava has taken over as the Managing Director of Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) with effect from 30 April 2026.

Srivastava brings with him over three decades of rich and diverse experience at GAIL (India) Limited, where he has held several critical leadership roles across operations, strategy, and business development.

With a distinguished career at GAIL, he has extensive experience in operating and maintaining gas processing units and pipeline networks, alongside managing large-scale projects. He has also made significant contributions at the corporate level in Planning, Strategy, Business Development, and the C&MD Secretariat.

Srivastava has spearheaded several landmark clean energy initiatives, driving India's transition to a sustainable future. Key accomplishments include his instrumental role in establishing one of the nation's largest Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) Green Hydrogen production plants in Vijaipur, launching GAIL's inaugural Small-Scale LNG project, and commissioning India’s first Hydrogen Blending Pilot Project.

Before joining MGL, Srivastava was Executive Director of GAIL’s Western Region, where he managed operations and marketing for the critical Western Regional Pipeline Network. He oversaw the transport of gas from major LNG terminals like Dahej and Dabhol to key industrial hubs and downstream systems. His leadership ensured safe, reliable supply to power, fertilizer, and chemical plants, as well as city gas networks across Western India. Additionally, he directed the marketing of petrochemicals and liquid hydrocarbons.
