Dr. Al-Faqeer succeeds Abdulrahman Al-Fageeh, who is retiring after more than 40 years with the company
SABIC (Saudi Basic Industries Corp.) has officially appointed Dr. Faisal Mohammed Al-Faqeer as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective 1 April 2026.
Dr. Al-Faqeer succeeds Abdulrahman Al-Fageeh, who is retiring after more than 40 years with the company. He is currently the Senior Vice President of Liquids to Chemicals at Saudi Aramco.
He previously served as the CEO of Sadara Chemical Company (a joint venture between Aramco and Dow) from 2017 to 2022.
He has chaired the boards of ARLANXEO and Saudi Aramco Mobil Refinery Company (SAMREF).
Dr. Al-Faqeer holds a PhD and a Master’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Pennsylvania State University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals.
