Shankar Sharan has been officially appointed as the new Managing Director of ONGC Petrochemicals Marketing Limited (OPML). OPML is a strategic joint venture formed by Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC), Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL), and ONGC Petro-additions Limited (OPaL).
The entity was established to unify and streamline the petrochemical marketing and trading operations across the entire ONGC group. Before taking on this executive role, Sharan demonstrated extensive leadership as the Group General Manager at ONGC. His distinguished career includes pivotal roles overseeing downstream operations and production management.
Sharan is a member of the Board of Directors at the ONGC Tripura Power Company (OTPC). He actively champions strategic corporate transitions, alternative energy integration, and collaborative partnerships, such as heading key initiatives during ONGC's green and geothermal energy collaborations.
He holds degree of Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) from Birla Institute of Technology (BIT), Sindri
