Krishna Hydrocarbons has proposed a 65 TPD capacity calcined petroleum coke producing unit at Barauni in Bihar?s Bergusarai district.In a letter to the Ministry of Environment and Forests for environmental clearance, the company said that the land to be used for the unit is industrial as the proposed project will come up in the Barauni Industrial Estate.

The total plant area is 1.895 acres of which 0.60 acres will be kept for greenbelt.

The total cost of the project is Rs 602.53 lakh.

The primary raw material for manufacturing CPC is raw petroleum coke (RPC) which will be procured from nearby IOC Barauni Refinery.

The project will not generate any industrial waste water, the company said, adding regular maintenance and greasing of the equipment will be done for maintaining the noise level.

No solid waste will be generated by the proposed project activities, it said.

In its presentation, the company said there will not be any major potential for negative impact on the environment due to the proposed project.

The company said there are no eco-sensitive zones, wildlife sanctuaries, national parks or defence installations within 10 km radius of the site.
