Micas Organics Ltd has approached the Ministry of Environment and Forest for environmental clearance to its proposed project to expand the manufacturing activity of its existing plant at Vapi in Gujarat's Valsad district.
Micas Organics Ltd has approached the Ministry of
Environment and Forest for environmental clearance to its proposed project to
expand the manufacturing activity of its existing plant at Vapi in Gujarat?s
Valsad district.
Situated in Vapi?s GIDC Industrial Estate, the unit wants to double its current
manufacturing capacity of 100 MTPM of organic azo pigments.
In its letter to the ministry, the company said that the proposed project cost
is Rs 301.5 lakh of which Rs 45 lakh will be for environmental management
system.
The total plot area is 2,055 sq m of which 250 sq m is for greenbelt
development.
The company?s products are Zinc chrome pigment, Middle chrome pigment, Lemon
chrome pigment, Scarlet chrome pigment, Prime Rose chrome pigment, Light Yellow
chrome pigment, Organic red pigment, Organic yellow pigment and Organic Orange
pigment.
The company said it will provide training to workers of all levels starting from
contract workers. In the training, various topics on safety related issues will
be covered. It said it will also adopt all safety measures for its plant and
provide all requisite facilities to its employees.
Taking into consideration the proposed project activities and guidelines, an
area of 10-km radius from the centre of the project shall be selected and
designated as the study area for the purpose of EIA study.
The samples of ambient air, ground and surface water and soil shall be collected
and analysed as per the standard methods for establishing the baseline data and
to determine the impact of proposed activity on the same.
