Announces shutdown of LAB plant for capacity expansion
Tamilnadu Petroproducts has commenced a planned shutdown of its Linear Alkyl Benzene (LAB) plant to complete its capacity expansion project. The shutdown began on December 11, 2025, and is expected to last for 8 to 9 weeks.
The company stated in a disclosure to stock exchanges that the expansion activities are in their final stages and that a shutdown is essential to finalize the project.
This expansion is a strategic move to strengthen the company's position in the petrochemical sector and meet the growing market demand for LAB, a key raw material in biodegradable detergent production.
