Vardhaman Organics has approached the Environment and Forests Ministry for change of product mix and addition of dyes and pesticide intermediates at its manufacturing unit at Sachin in Gujarat's Surat district.

and Forests Ministry for change of product mix and addition of dyes and
pesticide intermediates at its manufacturing unit at Sachin in Gujarat?s Surat
district.
In its presentation to the Ministry for environmental clearance, the company
said it wants replacement of existing products @ 30 TPM with proposed products @
43 TPM.
For the proposed modification in existing production unit, no new land or plot
is proposed.
"The change in the product mix is considering the market demand of the proposed
products, which have a good potential not only in the Indian market but also in
the European, US and Southeast Asian markets," the company said.
The total plot area of the unit is 1561.60 sq.m. The total area covered by
greenery is about 74 sq m and plantations have been done wherever possible, it
said.
The existing project cost is Rs 115 lakh while the proposed increased cost is Rs
71.60 lakh. The cost of environment protection measures is Rs 15 lakh.
?The construction and operation of proposed project shall result in a marginal
employment generation and not have a notable impact on socio-economic pattern in
study area,? the company said.
It said it will adopt all safety and hazard identification measures besides a
strong disaster management policy.
There will be medical check-up facilities for all employees, the company said.
According to Vardhaman Organics, there are no natural forest blocks in the area
and also no ecologically sensitive areas like national parks, wildlife
sanctuaries, coral formations or biosphere reserves with 10 km radius of the
site.
