IMCD Group, a global leader in specialty chemicals and ingredients distribution, has launched its first technical expert facilities in South Korea, including a Beauty & Personal Care Application Laboratory and the IMCD Beauty Studio Seoul. The move positions IMCD at the heart of one of the world’s most dynamic beauty markets.
The launch, attended by Onny Jalink, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in South Korea, follows IMCD’s acquisition of Dong Yang FT in October 2025, reinforcing the company’s commitment to local expertise, capability, and partnerships.
The new laboratory will enable close collaboration with customers on formulation development, technical troubleshooting, and early-stage innovation. It is fully equipped for a wide range of cosmetic applications, including skin care, hair care, color cosmetics, sun care, and toiletries. Key equipment includes mixing and homogenising systems, as well as analytical and stability testing instruments to validate performance and meet regulatory expectations.
Adjacent to the lab, the IMCD Beauty Studio Seoul serves as a fast-track product development hub, allowing brands to move from idea to prototype in as little as half a day. Using predeveloped chassis formulations, customers can customize products with active and sensory ingredients, reducing R&D time and risk while gaining access to IMCD’s global technical expertise.
The facility also offers space for technical workshops, trend seminars, and targeted training, underscoring IMCD’s long-term commitment to the South Korean beauty industry.
