Global specialty chemicals distributor and formulator IMCD Group has launched its new Technical Centre in Istanbul, marking a significant expansion of its innovation and customer support capabilities across Türkiye and surrounding regions.

 

Positioned as a strategic hub, the IMCD Türkiye Technical Centre brings together formulation development, product optimisation, technical consultancy, and hands-on support for customer innovation pipelines. The facility is designed to speed up development cycles and strengthen collaboration between IMCD and its partners.

 

Located in Ataşehir, the centre consolidates IMCD’s food & nutrition, beauty & personal care, and coatings & construction laboratories—previously spread across separate sites—into one expanded, fully equipped facility. For the first time, it also introduces a dedicated pharmaceuticals laboratory, significantly widening the company’s technical reach.

 

The new centre becomes part of IMCD’s global network of more than 80 technical centres and laboratories, reinforcing its strategy of combining global expertise with local market responsiveness.

 

The newly established pharmaceuticals laboratory is designed to serve not only Türkiye but also regional markets including the Middle East, Maghreb, Egypt, Kenya, and South Africa. 

 

It supports development across solid, liquid, and semi-solid dosage forms, including active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), while applying internationally aligned, risk-based development practices. Analytical method development follows Quality by Design (QbD) principles to ensure consistency and reliability in outcomes.

 

The Beauty & Personal Care Laboratory and Beauty Studio merge formulation science with interactive co-creation. Brands can develop products ranging from skincare and sunscreens to hair care and personal hygiene, while directly engaging in ideation focused on texture, sensory performance, and manufacturability.

 

The Food & Nutrition Applications Laboratory combines global trend insights with technical formulation expertise to support innovation in dairy, bakery, beverages, confectionery, and meat & savoury categories. Its work spans taste, texture, nutrition, and functionality, supported by pilot trials and prototype development.

 

Meanwhile, the Coatings & Construction Laboratory delivers formulation and performance testing for decorative and industrial paints, protective coatings, wood and floor systems, and construction materials such as ceramic adhesives and insulation systems.
