PPG is stepping up its focus on customer-driven innovation, showcasing new coatings, digital capabilities and application technologies at an Innovation Day held at its Global Coatings Innovation Center in Tianjin.

 

The event brought together PPG leaders, technical experts and customers to explore how the company is using innovation and collaboration to tackle evolving industrial challenges while helping customers improve productivity, efficiency and performance.

 

PPG said its approach is increasingly extending beyond coatings themselves. Its INSIDE THE CAN strategy focuses on coatings, chemistries and materials designed to enhance performance, productivity and sustainability, while its OUTSIDE THE CAN strategy expands into application technologies, digital tools, services and process innovations.

 

“Innovation today extends beyond the coatings themselves,” said David Bem, PPG senior vice president, science and technology and chief technology officer.

The most meaningful innovation happens when we work alongside customers to solve challenges, create new possibilities and help them to be more productive.”

 

The Tianjin event underscored PPG’s push to work more closely with customers to convert technical expertise into practical, measurable solutions. By combining coatings technology with application know-how, digital tools and collaborative problem-solving, the company said it aims to help customers address operational challenges faster and adopt more effective processes.
