Global construction chemicals major Sika has strengthened its European manufacturing and innovation footprint with the commissioning of a new concrete admixtures production plant and technical center in Ham, Belgium.
The move is aimed at enhancing customer service, accelerating product development, and supporting the construction industry's sustainability goals.
The new facility significantly expands Sika’s production capacity in the Benelux region while bringing the company closer to customers through shorter delivery routes, faster response times, and enhanced local technical support.
Equipped with advanced automation technology, the site combines large-scale manufacturing with state-of-the-art laboratories dedicated to product testing, application development, and innovation. The expanded technical capabilities will enable Sika to rapidly develop and deploy new solutions for ready-mix and precast concrete producers.
The investment is expected to accelerate the introduction of new products to market, improve production flexibility, and strengthen Sika’s ability to meet evolving customer demand. It also supports the growing need for more sustainable construction materials by helping customers reduce carbon emissions and achieve increasingly ambitious CO₂ reduction targets.
Beyond serving the Benelux market, the Ham facility strengthens Sika’s wider European production network, adding substantial manufacturing capacity and enhancing cross-border supply chain efficiency.
Christoph Ganz, Regional Manager EMEA, said: “With the new site in Belgium, we are strengthening our market presence in an important region and further enhancing customer service through more local and efficient production as well as the development of regional application expertise.
"By consistently aligning our supply chain and production with customer needs, we are creating a solid foundation for sustainable, profitable growth across the region.”
