Solenis, a global leader in water and hygiene solutions, has opened a new Global Research Center near its headquarters in Wilmington, Delaware.

Located in the Chestnut Run Innovation and Science Park (CRISP) the 100,000-square-foot facility features advanced laboratories, collaborative workspaces, and pilot-scale testing capabilities to accelerate product development and customer support for sustainability-focused products and technologies.

It will serve as the flagship hub in Solenis’ global R&D network of more than 500 scientists, engineers, and technical experts, including over 160 in Wilmington focused on water treatment and pulp and paper manufacturing.

The new center adds 20,000 more square feet of laboratory space than Solenis’ previous R&D location. Designed for collaboration and innovation, the flexible laboratories encourage cross-functional teamwork, while open environments foster cooperation. These efforts support the company’s expanding pipeline of research initiatives that deliver novel and sustainable solutions for customers.

“We’re proud to open the doors to our new Global Research Center,” said Christoph Adami, Vice President, Innovation.

“This investment reflects our dedication to scientific excellence, our growth within the Delaware community, and our belief that innovation is the key to solving our customers’ most complex sustainability challenges.”

“This new global center deepens our technical capabilities and strengthens our ability to attract top talent and deliver differentiated solutions to the market,” said John Panichella, Chief Executive Officer. “It’s a major milestone in our journey to become a force for sustainable change.”

“At Solenis, more than 75% of our research and development is focused on water, hygiene and sustainability,” added Dr. Lotta Kanto Öqvist, Chief Sustainability Officer. “From tackling water stress and enhancing health and well-being to driving innovation in recycling and food safety, these solutions address the world’s most pressing sustainability and health challenges.”
