Westlake Vinnolit is pushing the boundaries of sustainable plastics with the launch of GreenVin circular-attributed PVC, complementing its existing GreenVin and GreenVin bio-attributed PVC lines.

“The future is circular and low-carbon,” the company declared, highlighting its commitment to eco-friendly innovation.

PVC is highly recyclable through mechanical methods, which remain the preferred approach for both ecological and economic reasons. However, thermo-chemical recycling processes are emerging as a solution for plastic waste that is difficult to recycle and would otherwise end up in landfills or incinerators.

Westlake Vinnolit’s new GreenVin circular-attributed PVC is produced using renewable power (GOs) and circular ethylene derived from mixed plastics packaging waste that cannot be mechanically recycled. Mass-balanced according to ISCC PLUS, it delivers the same product quality as when using fossil raw materials.

“GreenVin circular-attributed PVC is particularly suitable when the application requires PVC recyclate with a quality equivalent to that of virgin material,” the company noted, positioning it as a high-performance, sustainable alternative for industries seeking circular solutions.
