The project with an announced capacity of 3 GW of solar cell manufacturing will see an investment of Rs. 3,000 crore
In a major step towards boosting India’s renewable energy sector, the RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group has announced an ambitious plan to establish a solar cell manufacturing facility in Uttar Pradesh. The project, located in Sector-8D of the YEIDA region, is spread across 100 acres of land and represents a significant investment of Rs. 3,000 crore.
The project with an announced capacity of 3 GW of solar cell manufacturing will see an investment of Rs. 3,000 crore. It will create over 1,200 direct jobs.
This project aligns with the Government of India’s vision of promoting renewable energy and achieving the target of 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030.
The YEIDA region, with its excellent connectivity via the Yamuna Expressway and upcoming Noida International Airport at Jewar, offers a strategic location for such mega projects. The facility is expected to catalyze the solar energy ecosystem in the state, ranging from manufacturing to downstream solar power deployment.
