Evonik has appointed Brenntag Specialties Pharma as the exclusive European distributor for its REXIM GMP-grade amino acids, strengthening supply access for pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical manufacturers across key markets.

 

Under the new agreement, Brenntag will take responsibility for market development and distribution of the REXIM portfolio across most of Europe, including the DACH region, the UK, France, Benelux, Scandinavia, Central and Eastern Europe, Israel and Turkey. Italy, Ukraine, the Middle East and Africa are excluded from the agreement.

 

The partnership is designed to improve customer access to high-quality GMP-grade amino acids while expanding the reach of Evonik’s REXIM portfolio in fast-growing pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical markets.

Evonik REXIM is a leading supplier of high-quality amino acids, supported by manufacturing capabilities and supply sources in Europe. The collaboration with Brenntag is expected to enhance local customer support, technical expertise and long-term supply reliability as demand rises for pharmaceutical ingredients and bioprocessing solutions.

Amino acids are essential building blocks for proteins and play a key role in biological and metabolic processes. REXIM amino acids are used across a range of regulated applications, including medical nutrition, active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), excipients and cell culture media components supporting biopharmaceutical production.

 

The agreement reinforces Evonik’s broader Health Care strategy, which includes functional excipients, pharmaceutical technologies and contract manufacturing services for oral and parenteral dosage forms. 

 

The company also provides CDMO capabilities for small molecule APIs, highly potent APIs, intermediates and innovative cell culture solutions such as dipeptides, lipids, carbohydrates and surfactants.
