This acquisition follows Safic-Alcan’s recent expansion into India earlier this year
Safic-Alcan, a leading global distributor of specialty chemicals, announced the acquisition of Ingredients Plus, a well-established specialty chemicals distributor with a strong foothold in the personal care, home care, coatings, rubber latex, food, and fragrance industries in Malaysia and Singapore.
Founded in 2007 (Malaysia) and 2010 (Singapore) by Graeme Love and Chai Sien Theng, Ingredients Plus has built a strong reputation as a technical-driven distributor. The company operates three advanced laboratories dedicated to personal care, coatings, and fragrances, enhancing its ability to deliver high-value solutions to customers.
This acquisition follows Safic-Alcan’s recent expansion into India earlier this year and underscores the company’s commitment to accelerating growth across Asia Pacific. While Safic-Alcan has maintained a modest presence in Malaysia since 2012, joining forces with Ingredients Plus significantly strengthens its regional platform and technical expertise.
“Ingredients Plus has exceptional technical capabilities and a strong culture of innovation, making it an ideal partner for Safic-Alcan. This acquisition is a key step in our long-term strategy to expand in Asia Pacific. We look forward to welcoming Chai and his talented team to our global family,” said Laurent Natal, Managing Director of Mergers and Acquisitions at Safic-Alcan.
“We are proud to be joining Safic-Alcan, whose international network, technical focus, and entrepreneurial spirit perfectly align with our values. This partnership will open new opportunities for our partners and customers throughout the region,” added Mr. Chai Sien Theng, co-founder of Ingredients Plus.
With this acquisition, Safic-Alcan reinforces its ambition to become the distributor of choice for specialty chemicals in Asia Pacific, building on its unique blend of global reach and local expertise.
