Dhaksha Unmanned Systems, a subsidiary of Coromandel International Limited, has opened a new manufacturing facility in the Aymicheri region of Kancheepuram, sharpening its focus on India’s growing indigenous drone industry.

 

Inaugurated by Arun Alagappan, Executive Chairman of Coromandel International Limited, the facility is designed to scale up Dhaksha’s capabilities across agriculture, defence and enterprise applications, while accelerating the development and indigenisation of critical drone technologies.

 

The new plant will enable the company to execute larger and more complex UAV programmes and respond faster to evolving customer requirements. It will also bring research and development, manufacturing and ecosystem capabilities closer together, creating a platform for collaboration across the drone value chain.

 

The company also unveiled two new agricultural drones — the DH Agrigator E10 Prime and DH Agrigator E10 Eco.

 

Built with indigenous components, the E10 Prime is aligned with the Namo Drone Didi programme and is aimed at supporting the expansion of India’s domestic drone ecosystem. The E10 Eco is positioned as a more affordable option, targeting small and marginal farmers as well as rural entrepreneurs looking to adopt drone-based agricultural services.

 

Dhaksha is simultaneously ramping up its defence operations. The Kancheepuram facility will include a dedicated production line for defence applications, including surveillance and logistics, strengthening the company’s ability to execute defence programmes and gain greater control over critical technologies.

 

The company is also expanding its sourcing and service ecosystem, including its network of service centres, as it scales operations. Dhaksha said the new facility will help technology partners combine complementary capabilities and accelerate the creation of an integrated drone manufacturing ecosystem.
