Dover Precision Components is expanding its Houston Innovation Lab into a broader testing and validation resource for original equipment manufacturers and end users, aiming to help engineers sharpen designs, improve performance and get critical machinery to market faster.

The Dover Precision Components Innovation Lab, a 12,000-square-foot facility opened in Houston in 2022, will now offer advanced product and material testing services spanning the development cycle—from early-stage prototype validation to final performance testing under real-world operating conditions.

"When your reputation is built on precision, reliability, and performance, testing is not just an option, it's a competitive advantage," said Burak Bekisli, Director of Innovation. "Our lab services are designed to serve as an extension of our customers' engineering teams, providing advanced testing, analysis, and collaboration to help bring high-performance, mission-critical solutions to market with confidence."

The lab is equipped to support engineers working on turbines, compressors and other rotating and reciprocating machinery.

Its services include: Prototype validation and design optimization to refine components before full-scale production. Failure-mode and root-cause analysis to identify and resolve complex performance problems. Accelerated lifecycle testing to assess durability and long-term performance under demanding conditions.

The company said the lab's capabilities also target emerging applications, including the hydrogen economy, where advanced tribology testing can help engineers tackle wear and performance challenges in high-pressure hydrogen environments.

Dover Precision Components said the expanded lab services are intended to give customers access to specialized testing and engineering expertise without requiring them to build those capabilities in-house.
