Elessent Clean Technologies has announced a strategic alliance with Hyderabad-based Thermal Systems Private Limited, bringing together over a century of sulfuric acid plant expertise with four decades of steaming equipment manufacturing experience.

 

The partnership is designed to deliver upgraded, integrated solutions for sulfuric acid plant operators across the Americas, particularly in replacing and optimizing critical steaming equipment such as boilers, superheaters, and economizers.

 

While equipment replacement is often treated as a simple like-for-like swap, Elessent emphasized that real-world plant conditions are far more complex. Over time, sulfuric acid facilities evolve, and original design assumptions frequently diverge from current operating realities—making optimization as important as replacement itself.

 

Through the alliance, MECS sulfuric acid technology from Elessent will be paired with Thermal Systems’ fabrication expertise to deliver a fully integrated approach to heat recovery systems. 

 

The companies say this combined offering will allow customers to evaluate entire systems rather than isolated components, improving performance, reliability, and operational safety while reducing risk.

Elessent’s MECS platform, used across phosphate fertilizers, metals processing, refining, and chemical production, has been deployed in more than 1,000 sulfuric acid plant projects worldwide. 

 

Its technology portfolio includes heat recovery systems, regenerative SO₂ scrubbing, and sulfuric acid production technologies, supported by specialized components such as catalysts, mist eliminators, scrubbers, corrosion-resistant alloys, and acid coolers.

 

The company says the alliance strengthens its long-term strategy to support industrial customers with cleaner, more efficient, and more sustainable production technologies across global markets.
