KBR has secured a major 10-year general maintenance services contract with Rabigh Refining & Petrochemical Company (Petro Rabigh), with an optional two-year extension, covering the company’s Polymer I and Polymer II plants in Rabigh, Saudi Arabia.

 

Under the agreement, KBR, through its local joint venture KBR Al Yusr, will implement a digitally-enabled maintenance program spanning preventive, predictive, corrective, and cycled shutdown services. The initiative leverages KBR’s AI/ML-driven digital tools and reliability frameworks to boost asset reliability, enhance plant availability, improve safety, and optimize operating expenses.

 

The deal marks Petro Rabigh’s first large-scale outsourcing of maintenance services, signaling a major step in the company’s ongoing business transformation. 

 

The program is designed to support structured change management while emphasizing safety, risk mitigation, and long-term operational excellence. Both companies aim to achieve top-quartile plant performance and embed continuous improvement across maintenance and reliability practices.
