KBR has secured a key role in one of Latin America’s most significant fertilizer projects after announcing that its Purifier ammonia technology has been selected by Pampa Energía for a new ammonia-urea complex in Bahía Blanca, Argentina.

 

Under the agreement, KBR will provide technology licensing, a basic engineering design package and proprietary equipment for the 3,430 tons-per-day ammonia plant, which is expected to begin operations by the end of 2029.

 

The facility will form part of Pampa Energía’s new ammonia and urea complex and, once completed, will become the largest single-train ammonia plant in Latin America. The project is expected to strengthen regional fertilizer production and support food security across the region.
