Lummus Technology has expanded its environmental solutions business.

 

This, by acquiring key intellectual property assets and experienced personnel from Shell Catalysts & Technologies, strengthening its emissions-control capabilities and broadening its reach across refining, petrochemicals and waste processing.

 

The deal brings Lummus an established global customer base, long-standing service relationships and proven industrial emissions-reduction technologies, reinforcing its ability to deliver integrated, end-to-end process solutions.

 

The acquisition covers assets from Shell's Environmental Catalysts and Systems (ECS) business, a specialized unit within Shell Catalysts & Technologies focused on industrial air pollution control and cost-effective emissions reduction solutions.

The acquisition significantly expands Lummus' environmental solutions platform, enhancing its ability to help industrial customers meet increasingly stringent emissions regulations while supporting operational efficiency.

 

The ECS business has developed technologies designed to reduce harmful emissions from industrial facilities, including DeNOx systems that lower nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions. Across its portfolio, ECS technologies are capable of achieving emissions-reduction rates exceeding 98–99% for key pollutants in certain applications.
