QPS used German technology to convert aromatic hydrocarbon materials into plasticizer feedstock

Vadodara-based EPCM company Quanta Process Solutions (QPS) had been awarded an EPCM contract for a leading plasticizers & resin manufacturing company. The Greenfield project is based on the manufacturing of specialty chemicals used in plasticizers.

The company successfully commissioned the Rs. 1,000+ crore chemical plant. The production capacity of the plant is 100,000 TPA. According to the company, basic engineering activities started in 2021 January, followed by detailed engineering and procurement activities which were completed in the final quarter of 2022. The plant is operating smoothly at its design capacity and quality parameters.

Quanta Process Solutions’ scope of work included site-master plan, basic & detail engineering, procurement assistance, construction management, site supervision, inspection & expediting, and commissioning and start-up support. QPS used German technology to convert aromatic hydrocarbon materials into plasticizer feedstock.  The technology utilizes more than 350 types of equipment and packages with operating conditions above 375 °C.

“The unit allows for backward integration of the client’s operations and a large portion of this plant’s output would be for captive consumption. The end-product from the complex, Plasticizers, are used in plastics or other materials to impart flexibility, softness, or other properties to the finished product,” Strategy & Business Development Head, Quanta Process Solutions, said.

QPS has completed more than 500+ Greenfield and Brownfield projects globally. The company specializes in process design activities like process simulation and basic engineering,
