Water treatment company Solenis has entered into a strategic representation agreement with nanobubble technology firm Moleaer to expand the use of nanobubbles in flocculant polymer activation for targeted water and wastewater treatment applications.

Under the global agreement, Solenis will serve as Moleaer’s exclusive third-party representative for the use of its nanobubble technology in polymer activation. The technology will be incorporated into Solenis’ Novera Nanobubble Performance Program, combining Moleaer’s patented nanobubble process with Solenis’ chemistry and technical expertise.

The companies said the collaboration is aimed at helping industrial and municipal customers improve polymer performance, increase operational efficiency and advance sustainability goals in solids-liquid separation.

Nanobubbles are gas bubbles smaller than 200 nanometers that remain suspended in water. According to the companies, their use in polymer activation can reduce polymer consumption by 10% to 40% in applicable treatment processes while increasing cake dryness by 2% to 4%. Results will vary depending on the application and operating conditions.

"This agreement strengthens our ability to deliver integrated, high-value treatment solutions to customers facing increasingly complex water and wastewater challenges," said Dave Jellison, Vice President, Global Equipment, Solenis.

"By combining Solenis' chemistry, application expertise and technical support with Moleaer's nanobubble technology, we are expanding our capabilities to help customers unlock greater value from their polymer treatment programs while minimizing the need for major capital investments."

Moleaer CEO Nick Dyner said the partnership targets rising pressure on industrial and municipal operators from tighter discharge requirements, aging infrastructure and higher operating costs.

"Industrial and municipal operators are under increasing pressure from stricter discharge requirements, aging infrastructure and rising operating costs, with improvements in solids handling through reductions in polymer consumption and solids hauling costs representing two of the most significant opportunities for optimization," said Nick Dyner, CEO of Moleaer.

"Solenis works at the center of these challenges, and its ability to deliver integrated chemistry and service programs at scale makes it an ideal partner to expand the reach of this proprietary process and technology globally. By integrating nanobubbles into polymer make-down water through our patented process, operators can enhance the performance of the chemistry they are already using, improving process efficiency and treatment outcomes. That's exactly what this collaboration is designed to deliver."

The agreement expands Solenis’ Novera program while giving Moleaer a global channel to extend its nanobubble technology into polymer treatment applications.
