Samsung C&T & Axens forge global carbon capture alliance to fast-track industrial decarbonization

The agreement signals Samsung C&T’s strategic expansion into the fast-growing carbon capture and storage sector
In a decisive move to accelerate industrial decarbonization, Samsung C&T Engineering & Construction Group and Axens have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to jointly deploy Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) projects worldwide.
The agreement signals Samsung C&T’s strategic expansion into the fast-growing carbon capture and storage sector. A global EPC heavyweight with deep experience delivering complex energy infrastructure — from power plants to LNG terminals — the company is now sharpening its focus on low-carbon solutions.
Axens brings to the alliance a powerful suite of proprietary technologies, including its DMX amine-based post-combustion carbon capture process, advanced CO₂ purification systems, and downstream solutions such as sustainable aviation fuel production.
