Among the confirmed speakers on the panel are: Mr. Bimal Puri, Vice President & CIO, SRF Technical Textiles; Mr. Atul Govil, CTO & Head, India Glycols Ltd; Mr. Suresh Nambiar, GM-IT, IOCL; Mr. Partha Sur, General Manager-Technology, Haldia Petrochemicals; Mr. Sunil Patil, Director-APJ Solutions Consulting, AspenTech; Dr Pratap Nair, President & CEO, Ingenero Technologies; and Mr. Praveen Kapse, Vice President-Global Strategy and Innovation, Tridiagonal Solutions. The session will be moderated by Pravin Prashant, Editor, Indian Chemical News.

The discussion will focus on topics such as the digitalization opportunities in chemical and petrochemical sectors, demand of big data and analytics to revolutionize smart manufacturing. It will also discuss the role of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) in enhancing capabilities in smart manufacturing, and increased use of digital twins and IoT among other key points.

Digitalization is having a significant impact on the Chemicals and Petrochemicals industry with the potential to completely overhaul value chains, lead to higher productivity and spur innovation, resulting in the creation of new channels to market. With the advent of COVID-19, its importance has increased multifold.

The holistic adoption of digitalization by the Chemicals and Petrochemicals industry will support the transformation of the existing business to absorb newer capabilities, platforms, gain insights using data analytics and make timely changes in business decisions to optimize the existing operating model and maximize efficiency and profits. New development processes, including rapid prototyping and parallel experimentation supported by data analytics, can help companies respond.

Organizational complexity, integration and process reengineering are the most prevalent challenges for executing smart manufacturing initiatives even in chemical industries. Combined, these challenges reflect the largest change management obstacles. Companies are recognizing the value and opportunity for smart manufacturing. However, just introducing new technologies is not enough and the factory workers must evolve alongside the technology and be on board for the changes to come.

However, it is not going to be an easy task for companies to adopt digitalization. The companies need to have a clear roadmap to establish an accommodating culture that promotes flexibility and learning. There is also a need to develop a complete ecosystem for the adoption of digitalization.

The idea behind ‘NextGen Chemicals & Petrochemicals Summit 2021’ is to provide a premier forum for the high quality deliberations. Apart from offering insights from who’s who of the chemical and petrochemical industry, it will provide ample networking opportunities with industry experts and solution providers. With interactive branding opportunities available throughout the platform, partners can connect with their target audience from anywhere in the world. The participants can network with key decision makers from the chemical and petrochemical industry all under one roof with participation from CMDs, CEOs, MDs, and government officials.

The summit is supported by the leading names in the industry. Among the platinum partners are: AspenTech, Trend Miner, Elliot Group, and Tridiagonal Solutions. Featured as the gold partners of the event are: GPC, Ingenero, Durr, Evonik, Rieco, Premier Tech, and Agilent Technologies.
