Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Limited (SWREL) has secured two major renewable energy orders worth more than Rs. 985 crore, including a 534.3 MWp solar project in Rajasthan and two battery energy storage system (BESS) projects in South Africa with a combined capacity of 616 MWh.

 

The orders comprise a domestic contract from a new customer and an international order from a repeat customer, underscoring the company’s growing presence in both solar EPC and energy storage markets.

 

The Rajasthan order, awarded by a leading independent power producer (IPP), covers a 534.3 MWp project and involves the Balance of System (BOS) package. The project is expected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 0.80 million tonnes once commissioned.

 

The South African order, awarded by a leading Middle East-based renewable energy project developer, covers two BESS projects of 308 MWh each, taking the total energy storage capacity to 616 MWh. The contract is for a turnkey EPC wrap.

 

SWREL said the South African project will be its second-largest utility-scale BESS project to date.

 

The Rajasthan contract also marks the company’s addition of a new customer, while the South African order comes from a repeat customer, reflecting continued confidence in SWREL’s project execution capabilities.
