TruAlt Bioenergy’s H1 revenue surges 243% to Rs 1,438 crore, swings to profit

TruAlt has expanded its dual-feed platform to 1,300 kilolitres per day

  • By ICN Bureau | October 26, 2026
TruAlt Bioenergy has reported a sharp turnaround in its financial performance for the first half of FY27, with revenue from operations surging 243% year-on-year to Rs 1,437.98 crore and PAT reaching Rs 94.27 crore, against a loss of Rs 33.27 crore in the year-ago period.

The company’s earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) soared 532% to Rs 233.92 crore for the half year ended September 30, 2026, compared with Rs 36.99 crore in H1 FY26.

For the second quarter, revenue from operations stood at Rs 811.10 crore, while EBITDA came in at Rs 101.16 crore and PAT at Rs 34.99 crore.

The results reflect stronger financial performance alongside investments in dual-feed technology, which allows the company to switch between sugar-based and grain-based feedstocks. However, elevated maize prices moderated margins during the September quarter.

TruAlt has expanded its dual-feed platform to 1,300 kilolitres per day (KLPD), accounting for 65% of its total installed ethanol capacity of 2,000 KLPD across five manufacturing units in Karnataka.

The integration, undertaken in the previous financial year, enables the company to process both sugar-based and grain-based feedstocks, giving it greater flexibility to respond to seasonal supply patterns and procurement costs.

The company expects this flexibility to support longer operating cycles, improve asset utilisation and production continuity, and strengthen operating efficiency.

The investment also offers a potential buffer against shifting feedstock economics. With maize prices putting pressure on margins in Q2, the dual-feed platform gives TruAlt more room to optimise its feedstock mix as market conditions change.

The company said it remains focused on procurement efficiency and cost management to sustain operating performance and profitability.

Beyond ethanol, TruAlt is advancing its diversification strategy through compressed biogas (CBG) partnerships with Sumitomo Corporation and GAIL.

The company is also pursuing a proposed sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) facility with a planned capacity of 100 million litres per annum, adding another potential growth avenue to its biofuels portfolio.

The initiatives come as TruAlt seeks to broaden its presence across the biofuels value chain while building on its existing ethanol manufacturing base.

With H1 revenue and EBITDA registering steep year-on-year gains and the company returning to profitability, the next test will be sustaining margins amid volatile feedstock costs and translating its expanded operating flexibility into consistent financial performance.
