The Government of India’s latest statistics shows that India produced a total of 11589,000 MT of selected major chemicals in 2018-19 . While the country imported 6379,000 MT of major chemicals , it exported 1579,000 MT in 2018-19.
India aims to produce 14672,000 MT of major chemicals in 2024-25 against the production capacity of 15994,000 MT at a capacity utilization of 92%. There is a big gap between imports and exports as these figures stand at 8568,000 MT and 2162, 000 MT respectively for 2024-2025.
