Eyes deeper grip on global energy infrastructure

Industrial engineering heavyweight Sulzer has secured a major long-term agreement with energy giant Aramco, tightening its foothold in one of the world’s most critical oil and gas supply chains.

The newly signed Corporate Procurement Agreement (CPA) lays out a five-year strategic partnership—extendable by three more years—covering the supply of centrifugal pumps, spare parts, and aftermarket services across Aramco’s vast global operations.

At its core, the deal is about reliability and scale. Sulzer will provide ongoing aftermarket support for Aramco’s extensive pump fleet, a move aimed at boosting performance across upstream, midstream, and downstream assets—key arteries of the global energy system.

"We are immensely proud to deepen our collaboration with Aramco," said Alex Myers, Regional President of India, Middle East & CIS (INMEC) at Sulzer Services division. "This CPA is a testament to our shared vision of excellence. The combination of Sulzer’s 190-years of engineering heritage with Aramco’s global leadership helps us to play an important role in the long-term success of the region’s energy sector."

The agreement also signals a strategic push toward supply chain resilience—a priority for energy majors navigating volatile global markets.

"We are delighted to advance our collaboration with Sulzer. This CPA helps to strengthen the resiliency of our supply chain, support Aramco’s capital projects, and ensure we maintain the reliability and efficiency of our pump assets across our operations,” said Sulaiman M. Al Rubaian, Aramco Senior Vice President of Procurement & Supply Chain Management.

Behind the agreement is Sulzer’s growing industrial footprint in Saudi Arabia. Its upgraded Riyadh hub—transformed in 2023 into a sprawling 13,000+ square meter facility—anchors the partnership, offering round-the-clock manufacturing, repairs, and emergency response capabilities.

The site is equipped to handle everything from pump refurbishment to servicing turbines, compressors, and blowers, backed by integrated logistics designed to keep critical parts moving without delay.

The message is clear: Sulzer is not just supplying equipment—it’s embedding itself deeper into the operational backbone of one of the world’s most influential energy companies.
