Sinopec seals US$ 40.9 billion deals at CIIE 2025

Since its participation in the inaugural CIIE in 2018, Sinopec has signed cumulative purchase contracts exceeding US$ 325 billion


China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (Sinopec) signs US$ 40.9 billion purchasing agreements with 34 partners from 17 countries and regions and cover 24 products across ten major categories, including crude oil, chemicals, equipment, materials, and consumer goods. The agreement was signed at the  recently concluded 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE 2025).

Since its participation in the inaugural CIIE in 2018, Sinopec has signed cumulative purchase contracts exceeding US$ 325 billion.

Delivering the keynote address, Zhao Dong, Vice Chairman and President of Sinopec, reiterated Sinopec’s commitment to promoting high-quality development and advancing the industry toward greater sophistication, intelligence, and sustainability. He emphasized that Sinopec continues to reinforce its industrial foundation through technological innovation while accelerating the deployment of digital intelligence to unlock new value and growth.

“Sinopec’s progress is built on trust, collaboration, and shared ambition with our global partners,” Zhao said. “Looking ahead to China’s 15th Five-Year Plan, we will deepen cooperation in scientific and technological innovation, address key development challenges, and strengthen competitive advantages across the energy and chemical value chain.”

He also called for collective action to enhance digital transformation across the industry and to expand green and low-carbon development. Zhao highlighted Sinopec’s commitment to advancing the clean and efficient use of traditional energy while scaling the development of new energy solutions, paving the way for a more sustainable future.

Senior executives from leading global companies, including Datuk Sazali Hamzah (EVP & CEO, Downstream, Petronas Chemicals Group), Axel Lorenz (CEO, Process Automation, Siemens), Aravind Yarlagadda (SVP, Industrial Solutions, Baker Hughes), and Audun M. Martinsen (Partner and Head of Energy Service Research, Rystad Energy), also delivered keynote remarks, providing insights into industry innovation, digital transformation, and future energy trends.
