Consolidated revenue from operations jumped 29.78% YoY to Rs. 1,57,818 crore compared to Rs. 1,21,605 crore in Q2 FY26
State-run Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) posted a 21.45% year-on-year (YoY) decline in consolidated net profit to Rs. 4,863.05 crore for Q2 FY27, down from Rs. 6,191.49 crore in the same period last year. The dip was driven by suppressed marketing margins amid volatile energy markets, though solid refining operations cushioned the impact. Standalone net profit for the quarter reached Rs. 4,993.17 crore.
However, sequentially, the results marked a stellar turnaround. The standalone net profit of Rs. 4,993.17 crore rebounded sharply from a massive net loss of Rs. 3,962.13 crore recorded in Q1 FY27.
Conversely, consolidated revenue from operations jumped 29.78% YoY to Rs. 1,57,818 crore compared to Rs. 1,21,605 crore in Q2 FY26. Sequentially, BPCL staged a strong recovery from a net loss of Rs. 1,872.70 crore in Q1 FY27, which had been impacted by high crude prices and delayed fuel price revisions.
Meanwhile, BPCL’s underlying operational metrics registered positive growth during the September quarter.
Refinery Throughput: Rose 6% YoY to reach 10.41 million metric tonnes (MMT) with capacity utilisation peaking at 118%.
Domestic Sales: Increased 6% YoY to 13.47 MMT.
Export Sales: Experienced a massive surge, climbing 64% YoY to 0.59 MMT.
Despite higher throughput, the downstream segment—comprising refining and marketing—recorded a 13% decline in results at Rs. 7,067 crore. Furthermore, the company's cumulative under-recoveries on domestic LPG rose 41% from March 2026 levels to stand at Rs. 17,334 crore.
