Located near Topolobampo, the world-scale project is expected to produce approximately 6,130 metric tons of methanol per day when operations begin in 2030

Heurtey Petrochem Solutions, an Axens brand, has secured a major technology award from Transition Industries to supply its advanced Electrical Tubular Furnace (efurnace) for the Pacífico Mexinol project in Sinaloa, Mexico — a flagship ultra-low-carbon methanol facility designed for sustainable chemical production.

Located near Topolobampo, the world-scale project is expected to produce approximately 6,130 metric tons of methanol per day when operations begin in 2030. Once completed, Pacífico Mexinol is projected to rank among the largest ultra-low-carbon chemical production facilities globally, combining advanced process technology, carbon capture, responsible water management, and innovative low-carbon production pathways.

Under the agreement, Heurtey Petrochem Solutions will provide its proprietary Electrical Tubular Furnace technology, supporting Transition Industries’ ambition to develop net-zero emissions methanol projects. The efurnace replaces conventional fired heating systems with electrical resistance-based heat generation, enabling safe, reliable, and efficient operation for demanding industrial applications.

The selection reinforces Heurtey Petrochem Solutions’ position as a leading provider of advanced electrical heating solutions, backed by decades of experience in furnace design, development, and industrial operation. The company’s large-duty efurnace technology is designed to meet the complex requirements of next-generation energy and chemical projects.

The award represents a significant milestone for Heurtey Petrochem Solutions, highlighting growing market confidence in its electrical furnace technology and its ability to deliver high-performance equipment for large-scale industrial decarbonization projects.
