Additionally, UPL has expanded its Indian biosolutions portfolio by securing registration approvals for four new biostimulants
UPL has successfully secured Fertilizer Control Order (FCO) registration for Bioclassic, its flagship biostimulant from the Natural Plant Protection (NPP) business, through its subsidiary SWAL. This milestone makes the eco-friendly agricultural solution readily available to farmers across India.
Bioclassic is a proprietary, fermentation-derived soluble concentrate that optimizes crop performance. Applied twice at ultra-low doses during the vegetative stage, it boosts branching and photosynthesis. This drives resource accumulation, strengthens plant vigor, buffers against stress, and secures higher yields.
Bioclassic has demonstrated high efficacy under varied climatic and soil conditions during field trials. This biostimulant is recommended for application with conventional sprayers and, where permitted, can also be applied using drone-based platforms in accordance with applicable SOPs.
Ravishankar Cherukuri, CEO, UPL SAS, said: “Bioclassic is designed to address the real-world stress conditions that Indian farmers frequently face - from extreme heat to the widespread challenge of high-alkaline soils across several states. Backed by scientific validation across geographies, Bioclassic’s registration highlights the growing potential of biologicals to strengthen farm resilience. It also reaffirms our commitment to offer scientifically validated, compliant solutions that enhance long-term sustainability.”
Anil Rohra, Global NPP Business Unit Leader, added, “Bioclassic is an integral part of UPL’s ProNutiva approach, that combines conventional crop protection solutions with advanced biosolutions to promote sustainable farming practices. By improving resource efficiency and supporting long-term crop health, Bioclassic can deliver significant value for oilseeds, pulses and vegetables.”
Additionally, UPL has expanded its Indian biosolutions portfolio by securing registration approvals for four new biostimulants: Opteine, Gaxy, Macarena, and Pilatus, alongside Bioclassic. These approvals underscore UPL's dedication to Indian agriculture, providing sustainable, science-based inputs that improve crop performance, boost soil health, and help farmers manage climate variability.
