As Europe moves toward stricter packaging sustainability requirements, Meccanoplastica is using PLAST 2026 to demonstrate how manufacturers can increase recycled content without sacrificing product quality or processing performance.
The blow moulding machinery specialist will showcase INEOS’ latest sustainable polymer technologies through a live production demonstration at the Fiera Milano exhibition centre.
At the stand, Meccanoplastica will produce 200ml cosmetic bottles in real time using INEOS’ HD5802BM-R AR, a mass balance-certified recycled HDPE grade manufactured from difficult-to-recycle plastic waste through advanced recycling processes.
The demonstration is designed to show visitors that recycled materials can deliver virgin-like quality, excellent processability, and a premium finished appearance.
Meccanoplastica will also display 4-litre bottles produced with INEOS’ Recycl-IN HDPE grade (rHD5603), a hybrid material containing 50% mechanically recycled post-consumer recyclate combined with highly engineered virgin resins.
The resins can be sourced from renewable or advanced recycled feedstocks through a mass balance approach, helping customers lower upstream greenhouse gas emissions while meeting recycled-content objectives.
The showcase comes as companies across Europe prepare for the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), which requires minimum levels of recycled content in several packaging categories by 2030.
Held every three years in Milan, PLAST is among the world's leading exhibitions for the plastics and rubber industries, attracting global technology providers, material producers, converters, and brand owners.
By featuring INEOS’ sustainable HDPE grades in demanding packaging applications, Meccanoplastica aims to demonstrate how the plastics industry can respond to evolving regulatory pressures while maintaining performance standards.
“We are proud to continue our collaboration with Meccanoplastica, their commitment to sustainability aligns perfectly with our mission to deliver high-performance recycled materials for demanding applications,” said Giorgio Martini, Rigid Consumer Goods Sector Manager.
